Editorial slants

I've heard about editorial slants and know about them. Take 'The Hindu' for instance. I can't digest its socialist leanings, particularly the mileage that it gives to people like Medha Patkar and Arundhati Roy. But even then I didn't know that things could get turned around quite so much.

Take a look at these headlines

  1. "Talent shortage becomes bottleneck for China's IT outsourcing industry"
  2. "China's outsourcing industry could overtake India by 2015 "

Can you believe that both are reporting the same conference!!!

"The remarks were made by Qu Zhonghua, a senior program manager of IBM China's Shenzhen branch, at the 11th Joint International Computer Conference (JICC 2005) held in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality"

The 1st is from Xinhua News Agency while the 2nd is from PTI. Both on Nov 13, 2005.

Well, I am off on a long holiday. Haven't been around much. In between work and falling ill and going around for scouting for a job I haven't had much time lately. Hope to set that right soon after I move to a new job.
