Silences, contemplation and entertainment

Sitting on the beach listening to the sound of waves against the shore ahead of me, I sat there for what could have been an instant or hours. Either way I would have been convinced that is exactly how long I spent doing that. Looking out at the horizon, I wasn't even thinking. I could feel some sense of calmness descend on me. They wondered if I was thinking of her. Said that I looked like I was lost in my thoughts and looked like I was in a melancholy mood. Was I really? I ask myself and I don't know. Whether I was happy or sad I do not know. But whatever I felt at that moment, I liked the feeling ;-)

Enjoying silences, inaction and contemplation. Another sign of getting old?

In my country, the word they use is 'lonely'. You probably dont realize it, but that probably what it is. Its enjoyable in a way.
