Apologies 2 the true ubergeeks

ubergeek: n., /oo´ber·geek/
[common; often spelled with initial ü; from German über + geek] Almost synonymous with demigod; used as a compliment of someone regarded as a paragon of geek achievement and virtue. Has partially replaced earlier demigod.

Nope - in case u r wondering, i'm not an ubergeek in the above sense of the word ! I'll never be one either. It is intended to be ironical. As a former techie turned practically tech-illiterate, it is supposed 2 b self-deprecating in its irony. Any true ubergeeks who happen 2 stumble across this, my apologies to you !

I'm what most techies disdain - a manager! Well - ok - i admit i'm not even a manager yet! I'm about half way through an MBA. But i think i'm more suited to be an academic than a manager. I've got little patience for the political shenanigans in most offices and even less for the tedious mind-numbing boredom that most corporate jobs are. Though academia is hardly free from politics, at least i'll have enough stimulating work. Brain candy - in so many words ;-)

I am passionate about the things i do, which i guess is the true hallmark of a geek. Got pretty strong opinions, likes and dislikes (Not surprisingly, these contribute to other people having strong likes and dislikes about me too ! )

Guess this'll do 4 an intro. I'm not sure if anybody will ever c this, but if u do, i'd be happy 2 know that!
