Signing off

Nah. I'm not throwing in the towel. Just wondered at how different people sign off emails.

Love - How I sign off to all my close friends
Regards - How one of my close friends signs off on every single mail, no matter whom he is sending it to
Best - Good acquaintance and on more than nodding terms
Bestest - How somebody I know signs off
Warm Regards - For people whom I know at work and like (if i start counting don't think i'll have to use my toes. Maybe even a single hand will do!)
Kind Regards - how somebody in our philippines office signs off. What does he mean "Kind Regards"??? Is he being Kind to us by sending his regards? Or thinking kindly of us?
- Nothing! Just a blank! That is how one of my friends signs off his mail!

Read about how the French have taken this to a fine art and developed dozens of ways to sign off to let the reader know exactly where he stands. In this pecking order of things "Assuring you of my delicate feelings" is apparently to be considered to mean that the author regards you with something bordering on contempt! Wonder how somebody will sign off a letter to his lover!!! Probably with something that runs into a few pages ;-)

You missed yours. I mean you missed "Yours sincerely/faithfully".

Try using crazy ones with people who you know wont report you to the cops. Stuff like "Candy and clouds" or "Coffee with two sugar please" or "A fat baboon tied to a balloon".

Yeah, I get bored at office sometimes. No really, I do :)

Actually, I dont use a signoff with most people. You dont want them thinking you like them or something. A lot of people think Im gay even if I dont use terms of probable endearment as signoffs. My wierder ones are reserved for those who know my Im straight or dont care which way I sway.

Hey, that rhymes... which way I sway. Hmm... :)

Well SoxY, guess that makes two of us! A lot of people hv taken me to be gay, while I'm just meterosexual. Shiny pink nails doesn't mean that I'm gay ;-) Just that I like pampering myself with a manicure every now and then.

And yes, it does rhyme. Think it can be one line of a song. Lets see if we can thrash out the rest of the lines between us. Hmm...that could be an interesting game. Each blogger could write one line of the song.
