Song of the moment

Rain - Madonna

Rain

Feel it on my finger tips
Hear it on my window pane
Your love's coming down like

Rain
Wash away my sorrow
Take away my pain
Your love's coming down like

Rain
When your lips are burning mine
and you take the time to
tell me how you feel
When you listen to my words
and I know you've heard
I know it's real

Rain's what the thunder brings
For the first time
I can hear my heart sing
Call me a fool but I know I'm not
I'm gonna stand out here on the mountain top
Till I feel your

Rain

Feel it on my finger tips
Hear it on my window pane
Your love's coming down like

Rain
Wash away my sorrow
Take away my pain
Your love's coming down like

Rain

When you looked into my eyes
and you said goodbye
Could you see my tears
When I turned the other way
did you hear me say
I'd wait for all the dark clouds bursting in a perfect sky
You promised me when you said goodbye
that you'd return when the storm was done
And now I'll wait for the light
I'll wait for the sun
Till I feel your

Rain

Feel it on my finger tips
Hear it on my window pane
Your love's coming down like

Rain
Wash away my sorrow
Take away my pain
Your love's coming down like

Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun
And I say never go away

Real, rain is what the thunder brings
For the first time
I can hear my heart sing
Call me a fool but I know I'm not
I'm gonna stand out here on the mountain top
Till I feel your

Rain

I feel it
It's coming
Your love's coming down like

Rain

I feel it
It's coming
Your love's coming down like

Rain

Feel it on my finger tips
Hear it on my window pane
Your love's coming down like

Rain

Wash away my sorrow
Take away my pain
Your love's coming down like

Rain

I feel it
It's coming
Your love's coming down like

Rain

I feel it
It's coming
Your love's coming down like

I'll stand out on the mountain top
and make the room too cold
like rain

Rain

One of my favourite songs by one of my childhood fave artists. Listen to it every time I see the first rain of the season. On an aside, I think that this is one of her most underrated songs.

Thank god summer is over. I think that the famous statistic that correlates the murder rate in NY and the summer temperature does have a ring of truth in it. Feel a lot better now that the rains have started. Soaring temperatures are something I just can't take. I become irritable because I'm all sweaty and feel grubby all the time.

Love the first real heavy downpour. It washes the streets clean - the litter gets washed away or soaked so that it no longer looks that bad. A soaked paper has a nice forlorn look to it. Much better than a rumpled bit of dry paper that makes you angry at someone who threw it away. The buildings look washed clean. The whole city looks better. Even the air feels nicer.

Walking on the waterfront , looking at the rain slashing its way through, the muddy waters of the sea crashing down below me, the whole city seemed to be floating. That was the first time that it did actually feel like what it was once - an island.
